Saúde Psicológica e Bem-estar 2024

Saúde psicológica e bem-estar 2024 | OSPBE/DGEEC xxiv What results stand out? STUDENTS Concerning the youngest pupils in preschool and the first and second years of primary school, whose assessment was made by educators or teachers using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), they report that more than two-thirds of pupils are sensitive to the feelings of others (72.5%), share easily with other children (70.4%), like to help if someone is hurt (75.2%) and have at least one good friend (87.3%). The teachers also report that a quarter of the pupils never sit still (25.3%). The results for these younger pupils (preschool and 1st and 2nd grade) are not directly comparable with those of the 2022 study since, in this series, the educators and teachers only assessed the youngest pupils (up to 3rd grade) but started with three-year-olds. Overall, the percentages suggest that three-quarters of pupils have at least one "strength" and at least one-quarter have a "weakness". In the opinion of educators or teachers, boys have more problems with behaviour and hyperactivity, and girls do better with prosocial behaviour. Regarding older pupils (third and fourth years of primary school), on the "Para mim é Fácil" scale, more than 80%, especially females, said they had no difficulties, and there were no differences in age. On the "Kidscreen-10" scale, more than half of the students reported no weaknesses. On average, students score 43/50, with a less favourable situation among older students and females. The results for these older primary school pupils (3rd and 4th grades) are not directly comparable with those of the 2022 study since this series used self-assessment instruments, not teacher assessments.
